1996 Florida

12-1 National Champions. Lost to #2 Florida State 24-21 in week 11, but won the rematch in the Sugar Bowl 52-20 for the National Title. Led by Heisman QB Danny Wuerffel and Head Coach Steve Spurrier

1997 Nebraska

Undefeated Co-National Champions. Tom Osborne's 3rd Championship team in 4 years.  Destroyed #3 Tennessee (P. Manning) in Orange Bowl 42-17. Led by QB Scott Frost, RB Ahman Green, DE Grant Wistrom

1997 Michigan

Undefeated Co-National Champions.  Defeated #8 Washington State in Rose Bowl.  Led by Heisman Winner CB/WR/PR Charles Woodson

1998 Tennessee

Undefeated National Champions. Peyton Manning left in '97, but QB Tee Martin led Vols to title game win over Florida State 23-16.  RB Jamal Lewis and WR Peerless Price were key contributors

1999 Florida State

Undefeated National Champions. First ever wire to wire #1 team.  Led by Heisman finalists QB Chris Weinke and WR Peter Warrick.  Coach Bobby Bowden's 2nd Championship Team

2000 Oklahoma

Undefeated National Champions. Despite low preseason rank, Sooners beat #1 Nebraska 31-14, then #2 FSU 13-2 in title. Led by QB Josh Heupel

2001 Miami

Undefeated National Champions. QB Ken Dorsey, RB Clinton Portis, RB Willis McGahee, RB Frank Gore, WR Andre Johnson, TE Jeremy Shockey, OT Bryant McKinnie, DT Vince Wilfork, LB Jonathan Vilma, S Ed Reed, S Sean Taylor. Destroyed Nebraska in Rose Bowl 37-14

2002 Ohio State

Undefeated National Champions.  Resilient wins all season including 14-9 win over Michigan. Upset 10-point favorite Miami in the National Championship in double overtime 31-24. Led by QB Craig Krenzel, RB Maurice Clarett, WR/CB Chris Gamble, WR Michael Jenkins, S Mike Doss

2003 LSU

13-1 National Champions.  Lost to Florida in October, beat #5 Georgia in the SEC title, and #3 Oklahoma in BCS Title 21-14. Led by QB Matt Mauck, RB Justin Vincent, RB Joseph Addai, WR Michael Clayton, DE Marcus Spears

2005 Texas

Undefeated National Champions, defeated USC 41-38 in one of the greatest games ever.  NCAA Record for most points scored in a season (652).  Led by QB Vince Young, DE Brian Orakpo, S Michael Huff

2006 Florida

13-1 National Champions.  Defeated Ohio State 41-14 in BCS Title Game, only loss was at Auburn in October.  Led by QB Chris Leak, WR/KR Percy Harvin, Coached by Urban Meyer

2007 LSU

12-2 National Champions, only 2 loss Champion ever. Both losses came in Triple Overtime (Arkansas, Kentucky). Beat Ohio St 38-24 in BCS Title Game. Led by QB Matt Flynn, RB Jacob Hester, DT Glenn Dorsey

2008 Florida

13-1 National Champions. Lost 30-31 vs Ole Miss.  Defeated Oklahoma 24-14 in BCS Title. Led by QB Tim Tebow, WR Percy Harvin, LB Brandon Spikes, DE Carlos Dunlap.  Meyer's 2nd title in 3 years

2009 Alabama

Undefeated National Champions.  Beat Texas 37-21 in Title, beat #1 Florida 32-14 in SEC title game.  Led by Heisman winner RB Mark Ingram, WR Julio Jones, and several future 1st round defenders

2010 Auburn

Undefeated National Champions. Led by Heisman Winner QB Cam Newton, Tigers won 7 games within a score including Oregon in the title 22-19

2011 Alabama

13-1 National Champions.  Only loss was to #1 LSU 9-6 in OT, but they won the rematch in BCS Title 21-0.  5 Players picked in top 35 picks.  Led by RB Trent Richardson, S Mark Barron, LB Dont'a Hightower, CB Dre Kirkpatrick

2012 Alabama

2002 Miami

2004 Auburn

2004 Utah

Undefeated season, and beat #20 Pitt 35-7 in the Fiesta Bowl, the first appearance for non-AQ team in BCS bowl game.  Coached by Urban Meyer, led by QB Alex Smith

2005 Penn State

12-1 Season, Orange Bowl win over Florida State.  Lost on last-second play against Michigan. Led by QB Michael Robinson, DE Tamba Hail, LB Dan Connor...*Season Vacated

2006 Ohio State

2006 Boise State

Undefeated Season. WAC Champs, defeated #10 Oklahoma in the Fiesta Bowl (43-42 OT)...considered one of the Greatest Games of All-Time.  Led by QB Jared Zabransky, RB Ian Johnson and Coach Chris Petersen

2007 Hawaii

Undefeated Regular Season. 2007 WAC Champs led by Heisman Runner-up QB Colt Brennan (4343 yards, 38 TD).  Lost in Sugar Bowl

2008 Oklahoma

2008 Utah

2010 Oregon

Undefeated Regular Season, lost on a last second FG in BCS Title to Auburn.  Ranked #1 for final 6 weeks of season.  Explosive offense led by QB Darron Thomas, RB LaMichael James

2010 TCU

Undefeated Season. Ranked in Top 6 all season, beat #4 Wisconsin in Rose Bowl 21-19.  Led by QB Andy Dalton, WR Jeremy Kerley, LB Tank Carder

2011 Oklahoma State

12-1 Season, only loss came a week after fatal plane crash, and in overtime at Iowa State.  Explosive offense led by QB Brandon Weeden and WR Justin Blackmon.  Defeated #4 Stanford in Fiesta Bowl.  Alabama was picked over them for BCS Title Appearance

2012 Notre Dame

Undefeated Regular Season, defeated by Alabama in BCS Title Game.  Resilient squad led by Heisman Runner-Up LB Manti Te'o and TE Tyler Eifert, several last second wins
