"Presented to the nation's Best Defensive Back by the Jim Thorpe Association"
Jim Thorpe did it all; a 1911 and 1912 Football All-American, Gold Medalist in the 1912 Olympics in Pentathlon and Decathlon, professional baseball, and the first President of the NFL.  He also has a town named after him - Jim Thorpe, Pennsylvania.

2013 Semi-Finalists:

15 of the nation's top Defensive Backs (Cornerbacks and Safeties) were selected as Semifinalists for the Jim Thorpe Award.  The only returning candidate is Ifo Ekpre-Olomu from Oregon.  Landon Collins and Steven Nelson were both winners of our weekly Deion Sanders Award (best Pick Six of the week).  Vernanon Hargreaves is the only Freshmen selected.
